The Joe Rogan Experience. Your Mom’s House. Doug Loves Movies. Over the last decade, podcasting has become an integral part of how comics interact with their fans and expand their careers. While podcasting itself may seem a simple science - set up a few microphones and hit record - the art of podcasting contains elements of sound technology, journalism and marketing.
Jeremy Essig is a comedian who has hosted two of his own podcasts also teaches a graduate level course in podcasting at Webster University in St. Louis. Combining his work both as a comic as well as his experience as a sound engineer and a former journalist - the class covers all aspects of podcasting from developing a unique podcast concept, proper recording techniques, guest booking and marketing.
This one day course will provide students a basic overview of all the concepts covered in his college course, preparing new podcasters the skills to produce and publish their own podcast as well as providing new tips and tricks for those who have already started their own shows.
Workshop runs from 11 - 4PM
